Born Arshad Sabri, he performs under the name Arshad Shaikh. Raised
between discipline and imagination, he studied Civil Engineering before finding
his way to the camera — a background that shows up as patience on set and a structural sense
of how a scene is built, beat by beat.
Schooled at The Doon Dhruva Public School, Dehradun, and later a
B.Tech in Civil Engineering at Suresh Gyan Vihar University, Jaipur,
he trained for the stage and screen at Ravindra Manch and
Jawahar Kala Kendra, Jaipur, and later at the
Naresh Panchal Acting School, Mumbai.
His influences run classic to contemporary: Daniel Day-Lewis for total
immersion and Irrfan Khan for restraint — with Jennifer Lopez
and Priyanka Chopra among the actresses he admires most.
Off camera, he's a son of Mohammed Sabir and Shabana Khatoon,
